Last March, on the occasion of the publication of the first Press Release of the FITONET Project, the Radio of the University of Salamanca conducted an interview with Rosa Morcuende (Scientific Researcher at the Institute of Natural Resources and Agrobiology of Salamanca, IRNASA-CSIC) aimed at learning more about this Operational Group. The news and the interview can be found at the following link.
The Irnasa-CSIC of Salamanca is working on the FitoNet project, a social network promoting plant biodiversity and the development of productive, sustainable plant varieties adapted to the conditions of climate change. Today we talked about this project, promoted and coordinated by Fundación Cellbitec, which has first-level members, featuring Rosa María Morcuende, a scientist from Irnasa. She shared with us the contributions from Castilla y León to FitoNet.

FitoNet aims to implement a system for the transfer of information based on a wide network of collections with pre-breeding and breeding plant varieties, increase the genetic diversity of crops, and develop a dynamic professional social network, generating experiences that show farmers, the food sector, and society at large the importance of using biodiversity to obtain quality, sustainable, and profitable products and crops.
