WHAT IS an OPERATIONAL GROUP?

A joint strategy to tackle the challenges of the sector

An Operational Group (OG) is a gathering of actors with different profiles, such as farmers, researchers, universities, etc., to jointly address a specific problem or opportunity from a multisectoral approach.

VINEURO OPERATIONAL GROUP

Innovation and sustainability

This project proposes a redefinition of the concept of wine-growing terroir, broadening its focus beyond traditional edaphoclimatic factors to incorporate the influence of landscape and functional biodiversity on the sensory quality of wines. In the current context of climate change and ecological transition, it is necessary to equip winemakers with innovative tools that allow them to manage their operations sustainably, maintaining or even improving the differentiation and quality of their productions.

OBJECTIVES

Best practices

The project develops ecosystemic best practices in vineyards through the use of aromatic and medicinal plants, evaluating their agronomic impact and on the aromatic and sensory profile of the wine, as well as their potential economic benefit and the communication and transfer of the results obtained.

[1]

To obtain models of Ecosystemic Best Practices (BPE) using Aromatic and Medicinal Plants (PAM) to agronomically improve vineyard cultivation.

[2]

To establish relationships between the different models of BPE in vineyards and their impact on the aromatic profile of the must and the wine.

[3]

To quantify the economic benefit of the increase in sensory perception through neurocatas and the aromatic profile in wines; and its relation to the BPE

[4]

To effectively communicate the project’s objectives, activities, and results.
