The ComFuturo ProgramComFuturo, an acronym for “A Commitment between the public and private sectors with science and the Future,” developed by the General CSIC Foundation (FGCSIC), is a collaboration between FGCSIC and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) with prominent private entities in the country to address unemployment among highly qualified young scientists, attracting the best young research talent and enabling them to apply their valuable skills to solving industrial and social challenges. This is a program of Social Responsibility with young research.
BIOVEGEN has shown its support for this initiative, which will be presented for the European call of Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions-COFUND (MSCA-COFUND). Furthermore, to achieve the objectives of the ComFuturo Program, business participation is essential to maintain the successful path of public-private collaboration in research, which is the hallmark of excellence of the program.
As new features in this edition, the call will be open to attract talent from any nationality and, in addition, it will offer the possibility for researchers to have research stays of 2 to 6 months (throughout the total three years of the project) in the facilities of the participating entities. Furthermore, thanks to co-financing, the aim is to facilitate the participation of SMEs with a lower contribution to the program, so that they can also benefit from the returns of ComFuturo.
