On June 27, 2024, the “I WEBINAR GO NATURSMOKE: Discover the new disinfectant technologies for the control of plant pathogens” was held. This innovative project aims to design and develop novel fumigant products that contribute to the efficient control of various phytosanitary diseases that cause significant economic losses in agricultural production.
This project arose within the framework of the 2022 Call for Operational Group Support Lines of the European Association for Innovation (AEI) regarding agricultural productivity and sustainability, whose definitive resolution was made public on June 24, 2024. This resolution has ratified the NATURSMOKE Operational Group with an investment of 291,639€, sourced from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (FEADER) and from funds provided by the Junta de Andalucía through the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Rural Development.
During this first webinar, which had the participation of more than 40 attendees, the main objectives of this project, which began in April 2023 with the bibliographic search document phase, were presented, and it will continue until June 2025 with the experimental phase focused on the design and corresponding efficacy trials of an innovative fumigant product for pest control. Furthermore, in this first session, each member made a detailed presentation of their business and research background and their responsibilities within this operational group.
