On October 30th, the “I WEBINAR GO SIMBIOLIVA: new biotechnological solutions for a circular economy of olive pomace” was celebrated, an event dedicated to presenting this innovative project aimed at promoting a circular economy strategy in the olive sector, focused on the management of olive pomace.
During this first webinar, which captured the attention of more than 70 professionals from the sector, the members of the Operational Group highlighted the main challenges faced by the olive sector, such as climatic fluctuations, crop alternation, and intensive production, which cause significant oscillations in olive oil and pomace production. In this context, the members presented the key objectives and activities of the project, which will focus on developing an innovative and natural solution for managing olive pomace. Specifically, this innovative solution will combine physicochemical processes with specific treatments using microorganisms, in order to obtain a biofertilizer that contributes to soil protection and strengthens the resilience of crops.
Additionally, the event also featured the participation of the Microclimatt Operational Group, a completed project that shares synergies with Simbioliva, particularly regarding the improvement of soil health through the development of alternative solutions to synthetic fertilizers.
