On April 20, 2023, the call for the Circular Bio-based Europe (CBE-Joint Undertaking) initiative was opened. The call will dedicate a total of €215.5 million to boost bioindustries and the circular economy in Europe through 18 themes. The deadline for submitting applications is September 20, 2023.
The mission of CBE is to advance a competitive bioeconomy for a sustainable Europe, in line with the commitments established in the European Green Deal and the EU Bioeconomy Strategy. To achieve this goal, in 2023, the public-private partnership will fund projects that develop innovative and sustainable biological-based solutions, focusing on these strategic priorities: soil health, industrial biotechnology, biological products, biorefining, waste valorization, integrated value chains, and the enhancement of SMEs.
