Last March, we informed you about the cancellation, until further notice, of the XV Molecular Biology of Plants Meeting (RBMP), which was scheduled to take place from June 3 to 5, 2020, in Torremolinos, Málaga. The event, in which BIOVEGEN was to organize the Session “Innovative Companies and R&D Financing”, had to be postponed due to the health crisis caused by COVID-19.
In this context, the Organizing Committee has published a statement informing that, due to the significant uncertainty that still exists regarding the health crisis, the in-person celebration of the event in 2020 is definitively canceled and will be moved to 2022.
However, the Organization also believes that it would be of great interest to the scientific community that there is no gap of 4 years without the RBMP. Many pre- or post-doctoral researchers may not have the opportunity to present their work if this edition is fully canceled. Therefore, there is the possibility of organizing a special online edition this year that could take place in the fall (October or November). For this reason, a survey is being conducted to confirm whether this option is appealing and whether there would be acceptance. The registration fee would obviously be adjusted to this format.
