The execution of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan introduces a new form of public-private collaboration: the Strategic Projects for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE). This initiative will encompass driving projects that have a structural transformative impact on the value chain of strategic sectors or include phases of research and innovation.
The Agri-Food PERTE, whose regulatory framework has been recently published, aims primarily to promote innovation, digitalization, and sustainability across the entire sector, through support programs and transformative instruments that foster sustainable, competitive, and resilient agri-food production and industry. The first package of aid for the Agri-Food PERTE will amount to 510 million € and will be executed by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism:
- Call for proposals: the submission period will begin on January 23, 2023, and end on February 28, 2023.
- Type of aid: currently 310 million € in the form of grants and 200 million € in the form of loans.
- Minimum budget per driving project: 10 million euros.
- Minimum budget per primary project: 100,000 euros (for certain actions, such as traceability and food safety, there is no minimum budget requirement).
Given the importance of this aid, BIOVEGEN has prepared a summary report of its regulatory framework.
