The UE Missions are one of the most innovative projects within the framework program for research and innovation Horizon Europe, which will be developed during the period 2021-2027, through the funding of research and innovation programs with a strong social sciences component.
One of these missions is the Soil Mission, ‘A soil agreement for Europe’, which aims to establish 100 living laboratories and beacons to lead the transition towards healthy soils by 2030, ensuring that 75% of European soils are healthy, because by taking care of the soil, we take care of life.
Last March, the Work Programme for 2023 of the Horizon Europe missions was published, allocating 139 million euros for the 2023 call of the soil mission. The submission deadline for applications will remain open until September 20, 2023.
Additionally, BIOVEGEN attended the event “Horizon Europe Missions: News and Calls 2023” organized by the CDTI, where the fundamental aspects of the 2023 soil mission call were addressed.
Given the importance of this call, and the opportunities it offers for innovation in the agri-food and forestry sectors, BIOVEGEN has prepared a report where the funding opportunities of this latest call and their corresponding areas of action are detailed.
