On May 26, BIOVEGEN participated in the Interplatforms Event “Applications of the circular economy and the bioeconomy of cork in fishing and marine environment protection,” representing the Interplatforms Group of Circular Economy – GIEC.
At this event, organized by the Spanish Technological Platform for Cork (PTEcor), the Spanish Technological Platform for Fishing and Aquaculture (PTEPA) and the Technological Platform for Coastal and Marine Environment Protection (PROTECMA), the role of cork waste within the Circular Economy and Bioeconomy was discussed, highlighting its value as resources to be integrated into the fishing industry, thereby reducing the potential impact that the use of other materials may have on the marine environment, coastal areas, and biodiversity.
