The implementation of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan includes a new figure of public-private collaboration: the Strategic Projects for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE). This figure will encompass driving projects with a structural transformative impact on the value chain of strategic sectors or involving phases of research and innovation.
The Agri-food PERTE, whose regulatory bases have been published recently, aims primarily to promote innovation, digitalization, and sustainability across the entire sector through support programs and transformative instruments that foster sustainable, competitive, and resilient agri-food production and industry. The first aid package of the Agro PERTE will be funded with approximately 400 million euros (not finalized, estimated between 450-500 million euros) and will be executed by the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Tourism:
- Call for applications: expected to be announced in early November 2022.
- Types of aid: currently 213 million euros in the form of grants and 233 million euros in the form of loans.
- Minimum budget per driving project: 15 million euros.
- Minimum budget per primary project: to be determined in the call for applications.
Given the importance of this aid, BIOVEGEN has prepared a summary report of its regulatory bases.
- Version: September 2022.
