Horizon Europe is the future Framework Program for Research and Innovation of the European Union for the period 2021-2027. Given the extent and complexity of this multiannual program, BIOVEGEN has prepared a report to provide information about this ninth Framework Program: BIOVEGEN Report Horizon Europe 2021-2027. This includes information regarding the structure, budget, funding mechanisms, participation rules, etc. of the program in order to help increase funding for research and innovation activities in the Spanish agri-food sector.
Horizon Europe has the largest budget to date, totaling 100 billion euros, in addition to the Next Generation EU funds and the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027. Compared to the previous program, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe includes innovations that allow for better structuring and simplification of the program. It is structured into three pillars that allow the division of the EU’s action themes.
