BIOVEGEN participates in the December issue of the magazine “Mundo del Agrónomo”. This magazine has published the article “A genomic investigation of citrus positions Spain as a reference for innovation in the sector,” prepared by BIOVEGEN along with researchers from the Valencian Institute of Agricultural Research (IVIA).
The article refers to crucial research on the genome of citrus, featured on the cover of the July issue of Nature Biotechnology, which has seen significant Spanish participation and produces results of great scientific and commercial relevance. This research provides previously unknown information about the genome and evolution of citrus, opening the door to the development of new varieties and thus improving the competitiveness of the Spanish citrus sector. Spain is a world leader in citrus exports, generating an annual net profit of €2.5 billion, so the results of this study are of significant commercial interest.
