The implementation of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan includes a new form of public-private collaboration: the Strategic Projects for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE). This will encompass tractor projects that have a structural transformative impact on the value chain of strategic sectors or those with phases of research and innovation.
The Agri-food PERTE, whose regulatory bases have been published recently, aims to primarily promote innovation, digitization, and sustainability throughout the sector, through support programs and transformative instruments that foster sustainable, competitive, and resilient agri-food production and industry. The first aid package of the Agri-food PERTE will be endowed with approximately 400 million € (not final, estimated between 450-500 million €) and will be executed by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism:
- Call: planned for early November 2022.
- Type of aid: currently 213 million € in the form of a grant and 233 million € in the form of a loan.
- Minimum budget per tractor project: 15 million €.
- Minimum budget per primary project: to be determined in the call.
Given the importance of this aid, we at BIOVEGEN have prepared a summary report of its regulatory bases.
- Version: September 2022
