Over the past year, the Government has published various initiatives and programs aimed at promoting the digitization of national value chains.
On July 23, 2020, the Spain Digital 2025 Plan was presented, focused on the Spanish digital transformation as a lever for economic growth, which includes the promotion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a fundamental pillar. In this regard, the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy provides a reference framework and boost for the public and private sectors.
On the other hand, on September 8, 2020, the Council of Ministers approved the Spanish Strategy for Science, Technology, and Innovation (EECTI) 2021-2027, a key instrument for the consolidation and strengthening of the Spanish System of Science, Technology, and Innovation (SECTI) that will promote the coordination and alignment of public policies that favor the digitization of our society and industries in the area of R&D&I.
In this framework, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation will support with €105,000,000 from the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism the financing of research and development projects in artificial intelligence and other digital technologies and their integration into the value chain. This call is being managed through the Red.es service.
