Horizon Europe is the future Framework Program for Research and Innovation of the European Union for the period 2021-2027. Given the scope and complexity of this multiannual program, BIOVEGEN has prepared a report to inform about this ninth Framework Program: BIOVEGEN Report Horizon Europe 2021-2027. This gathers information regarding the structure, budget, funding mechanisms, participation rules, etc. of the Program in order to contribute to increasing funding for research and innovation activities in the Spanish agri-food sector.
Horizon Europe has the largest budget to date, amounting to 100 billion euros, in addition to the funds from Next Generation EU and the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027. Compared to the previous Program, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe features novelties that allow for better structuring and simplification of the program. It is structured around three pillars that allow for the division of the EU’s action themes.
