BIOVEGEN has recently joined the Advisory Board of the European project BioBridges. The BioBridges project aims to address the challenge of improving the marketing of biological origin products (BBPs) by fostering close cooperation and partnership between biological base industries, brand owners, and consumer representatives.
BioBridges also seeks to involve other stakeholders in these alliances among bio-industries, brand owners, and consumer representatives, such as communities, local authorities, and other industrial players, in order to establish pathways for collaboration that promote the marketing and market entry of bioproducts. We also aim to facilitate interconnections within the sector and create synergies.
Through Biobridges, methodologies, procedures, and best practices are designed and implemented to support the co-creation of new cross-sector partnerships. The main challenges of the project are:
- Evaluate the level of cooperation and mutual learning between producers of biological products (industry and brand owners) and consumers (citizens) and identify the key factors that hinder this cooperation.
- Identify best practices on how to improve this cooperation and ensure the active participation of all stakeholders in the design of biological products.
- Identify the most relevant sectors for the bioeconomy that demonstrate the greatest potential for cooperation to generate new value chains and improve existing value chains.
The project’s Advisory Board is a consultative mechanism formed by external experts from different fields of the bioeconomy, aimed at improving collaboration among the actors in the value chain and promoting the development and marketability of biodegradable products. These experts complement the efforts of the BioBridges partners.
