Due to the state of emergency declared by Royal Decree 463/2020, of March 14, because of the coronavirus health crisis, the normal functioning of GOCITRUS has been disrupted. There are actions that cannot be carried out according to the initially planned schedule but will be recovered and conducted at a later time, once the current confinement state is over.

To minimize the consequences of this situation, project members have held extraordinary meetings and adopted various measures to maintain the development of GOCITRUS activities and ensure the continuity of the innovative project. These measures include a rescheduling of the GOCITRUS activities timeline, especially regarding the holding of events and public presentations of the project.

Meetings held in virtual format:

First of all, on March 27, a videoconference was held exclusively aimed at managing and reinforcing the dissemination actions of GOCITRUS, in such a way that the current situation caused by COVID-19 does not hinder the dissemination of the results of the innovative project.

Then, on March 31, an extraordinary meeting was held aimed at rescheduling the project activities and developing an explanatory document for the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food (MAPA) to provide detailed information on:

  • Actions that cannot be carried out as initially planned but may be carried out at a later time, once the state of emergency is over.
  • Impact on the timeline in the event that actions cannot be executed during the 2020 execution period, but their possible execution in 2021 is anticipated.
  • Actions that cannot be carried out under any circumstances with no alternative to achieve the project’s objectives.
