Fruit Attraction LIVEConnect hosted yesterday the second session of the BIOTECH ATTRACTION series of talks: “New compounds from plant material.”

The BIOTECH ATTRACTION series aims to showcase the technological trends that will shape the future of agriculture, as well as examples of innovative companies and projects working in these areas. From BIOVEGEN, as a public-private association focused on supporting innovation in the sector and a collaborator of FRUIT ATTRACTION, we intend with this series to demonstrate the technological and funding opportunities that open up to the sector through technological innovation, which offers new products, varieties, new applications of crops, new tools, greater efficiency in production, and less environmental impact… In short, to show how technological innovation in the sector, driven by tools that emerge from deep knowledge of plant biology, provides business opportunities and competitiveness to the entire value chain of the agri-food sector.

The second session, held yesterday under the title “New compounds from plant material,” featured important speakers from the business sector such as David Alonso, Operations Director of Grape; Ramón Alcaraz, founder and CEO of Naturbec; Javier Martínez, founder and CEO of Bioento; Eneko Ochoa, founder and CEO of Aleovitro, and Gonzalo Mijangos, founder and CEO of Green and Great. Juliana Navarro from the Aragon Agricultural Research and Technology Center (CITA) was also present, presenting the project MAPCROPS.
