BIOVEGEN attended the meeting on “The European funds for the Madrid food industry“, organized by the Association of Food Industries of the Community of Madrid (ASEACAM) and Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar. This event aimed to present the current European funding framework and its funding lines, both in direct management programs and in Next Generation funds, as well as potential coordinated projects for the agri-food industries.

The meeting included the participation of Silvia Pajares, Director of the Technical Office of European Funds at CEIM, who provided a summary of the current European funding framework. She highlighted the Multiannual Financial Framework, the Next Generation EU funds, and the Horizon Europe program. Given the recent publication of Spain’s definitive Recovery Plan, Silvia also focused on explaining the action lines and investments that will most impact the agri-food sector.

For his part, Mariano González, Deputy Minister of the Environment of the Community of Madrid, emphasized the importance of communication between the Autonomous Communities and the Government in the preparation of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan. Finally, José Antonio Guerrero, Regional Director of Cajamar, made some references to the opportunities these funds will present for the productive fabric, as well as the responsibilities that companies will have to tackle with regard to the transformation of the economy.
