BIOVEGEN participated on October 27 in the press conference presenting the project “Phase III of biological nitrogen fixation cereals (BNF)”, which will be developed at the Plant Biotechnology and Genomics Center (CBGP).

This project, led by Professor Luis Rubio, aims at biological nitrogen fixation (BNF) in cereals and is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The BNF-Cereals project uses bioengineering and synthetic biology to confer an elite variety of cereals with the ability to carry out biological nitrogen fixation, allowing them to thrive in conditions with low or limited nitrogen.
