Fruit Attraction LIVEConnect hosted the fourth session of the BIOTECH ATTRACTION cycle last Thursday: “New Tools for Plant Health.”

The BIOTECH ATTRACTION cycle aims to showcase the technological trends that will shape the future of agriculture, as well as examples of companies and innovative projects working in these areas. From BIOVEGEN, as a public-private association focused on supporting innovation in the sector and collaborating with FRUIT ATTRACTION, we aim to demonstrate the technological and funding opportunities available to the sector through technological innovation, which offers new products, varieties, new crop applications, new tools, greater efficiency in production, and reduced environmental impact… Ultimately, it aims to show how technological innovation in the sector, driven by tools emerging from a deep understanding of plant biology, provides business opportunities and competitiveness across the entire agri-food value chain.

In this last session, held on Thursday October 29, there was a discussion about the “New Tools for Plant Health.” In the company section, Walter Sanseverino, co-founder and CEO of Sequentia Biotech; María Albiach, founder and CEO of Valgenetics; Nuria Sierras, Head of R&D Plant Health at Bioibérica and Berenice Güerri, CEO of Glen Biotech. Within the project-science scope, Luis Vicente López-Llorca, from University of Alicante (UA), presented Synthetic Biology and Plant Pathology, and Aurelio Ciancio, from the Sustainable Plant Protection Institute of Italy, with the Project Musa.
