BIOVEGEN has participated in the Technological Observatory of the Tierra Platform by developing the document “Biotechnology and Plant Varieties.” With this document, BIOVEGEN aims to introduce the reader to the world of plant breeding from its beginnings to the present day. The document analyzes the evolution of the tools and technologies used in both conventional breeding and genetic engineering. Additionally, it includes a ranking of leading companies in the sector in the global market and a catalog of R&D projects currently in development.
Tierra Platform is an initiative launched by Cajamar Caja Rural to promote the digitization of the agri-food sector with the goal of achieving greater sustainability and improving the profitability of the different agents that make up the agri-food chain. The Tierra Platform is an open and participatory community of farmers and ranchers, cooperatives and food industries, marketers and distribution companies, auxiliary industry, knowledge centers, and technology developers; working collaboratively to develop new tools that aid in decision-making.
