The Integrative Biology of Systems Institute, I2SysBio, is a mixed research center formed by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the Universitat de València Estudi General (UVEG). Located in the Scientific Park of the University, I2SysBio aims to generate fundamental knowledge about the complexity of biological systems and transfer it to the productive sector to improve health and the environment; consolidate synthetic and systems biology in Spain and serve as an international reference center.

To achieve this, we seek to understand the complexity of life by approaching the problem with a holistic and evolutionary vision. We employ the most cutting-edge ‘omic’ techniques and have computational capabilities that allow us to work with large amounts of data to solve complex biological problems. I2SysBio is a multi- and interdisciplinary institute, with 23 research groups organized into 3 programs: systems biotechnology, pathogen systems biology, and theoretical and computational systems biology.
