On April 11, BIOVEGEN held a new meeting of its General Assembly. This meeting was followed by a session titled “Biotechnology for the challenges of the agricultural sector” held at the CEOE headquarters in Madrid, which gathered more than 120 attendees and scheduled over 100 bilateral meetings among professionals in the agri-biotechnology sector.
The event featured high-level speakers who presented the current legislative situation and showcased the potential of new genomic and biotechnological tools to tackle the challenges in the agri-food sector. During the session, attendees were also offered a panoramic view of the public and private financing opportunities for the agri-biotechnology sector, contributing to the formation of large science-business consortia that develop innovative projects in response to sector challenges. The event concluded by presenting the new edition of the major international fruit and vegetable fair, Fruit Attraction, along with the robust and well-established Biotech Attraction area aimed at entities interested in plant innovation.
