On May 12, 2025, BIOVEGEN participated in the Conference on the potential of NGTs in the agri-food sector, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food. The event focused on the presentation of the scientific advisory project developed by MAPA and CRAG, as well as analyzing recent advancements in the European regulatory framework following the agreement reached by Member States on the proposed regulation of plants obtained via NGTs.
In this context, the two-year initiative aims to support the development of a European legislative framework and promote collaboration between science and the agri-food sector. To this end, the proposal will include the preparation of technical reports, the development of participatory workshops, and the creation of a web platform. For its part, BIOVEGEN will collaborate in this initiative by fostering the generation of synergies between the scientific and industrial fields, facilitating knowledge transfer and innovation.
