On April 20, the 2023 call for the Circular Bio-based Europe (CBE-Joint Undertaking) initiative was launched. The call will dedicate a total of 215.5 million euros to boost bio-industries and the circular economy in Europe through 18 themes. The application submission deadline closes on September 20, 2023.
The mission of CBE is to advance a competitive bioeconomy for a sustainable Europe, in line with the commitments established in the European Green Deal and the EU Bioeconomy Strategy. To achieve this goal, in 2023, the public-private partnership will finance projects that develop innovative and sustainable biological-based solutions, focusing on these strategic priorities: soil health, industrial biotechnology, biological-based products, biorefining, waste valorization, integrated value chains, and the enhancement of SMEs.
