On August 22, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Tourism published the Order of Bases and call for the second edition of the PERTE Agroalimentario, endowed with 100 million euros in direct subsidies to the sector.

These grants will finance individual projects led by private commercial companies, cooperatives, and agricultural transformation societies. However, unlike the previous edition, the grants in this 2024 call will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so initiatives will be approved and paid as they are submitted until the budget is exhausted.

Relevant data from the call:

  • Deadlines: the submission period will start on September 19, 2024, and end on October 21, 2024.
  • Minimum budgets: R&D&I line (500,000€ for SMEs and 800,000€ for large companies) and other lines (200,000€ for SMEs and 400,000€ for large companies).
  • Intensity of aid: depending on the type of project and size of the company, it could reach up to 70% of the project’s execution budget.

Given the interest this call has for the agri-biotech sector, we at BIOVEGEN have prepared the following report, which summarizes the main characteristics of this call.
