The European Forum for Science, Technology, and Innovation Transfiere 2026 was held on February 24, 25, and 26, 2026, during its fifteenth edition at the Trade Fair and Congress Center of Málaga (FYCMA). During this key event for internationalization and the promotion of innovation in Spain, BIOVEGEN participated on February 25, 2026, in the session titled Collaborative Innovation for the Circular Economy: Vision and Challenges of the Interplatform Group on Circular Economy, organized by the Interplatform Group on Circular Economy (GIEC), presenting its activities to support innovation at the booth of the State Agency for Research (AEI).

Taking advantage of the international projection and the celebration of this forum in Andalusia, BIOVEGEN presented an overview of the BIODIF and SIMBIOLIVA Operational Groups, highlighting their members and the progress made to date within each project’s framework.

  • The BIODIF Operational Group is a project aimed at biofunctionalization with essential micro/macroelements of three national strategic crops used as food matrices (tomato, corn, and olive) for the production of table olives and oil, through the application of nanotechnology (nanofertilizers).

  • On the other hand, the SIMBIOLIVA Operational Group is a project aimed at developing biotechnological solutions to promote a circular economy in olive cultivation associated with pomace that protects the soil from degradation and increases the resilience of the crops.
