The BIODIF Operational Group participated on June 19, 2025 in the Assembly of the Interdisciplinary Thematic Platform (PTI) AGRO4FOOD, held at the Institute of Food Science and Technology and Nutrition (ICTAN-CSIC). This innovative project, focused on the biofunctionalization of strategic crops such as corn, tomato, and olive through the incorporation of essential micro and macroelements, positioned itself as a clear example of a project aligned with the goals of AGRO4FOOD, aimed at promoting more sustainable, healthy, and technologically advanced agriculture.
During the meeting, representatives from other agri-food projects also spoke, sharing scientific and technological advancements in key areas such as genetic improvement and the valorization of agri-food waste. All of this took place in a collaborative environment among CSIC centers, interdisciplinary platforms, and other sector agents.
The participation of the GO BIODIF in this event reinforced the role of PTIs as tools to transfer scientific knowledge to the agri-food sector, promoting innovative solutions to the current challenges faced by the sector. Additionally, after the meeting, the members of the BIODIF Operational Group held an internal meeting to coordinate the activities that will be carried out throughout the second year of the project.
