On June 28, the TransMisiones 2023 Call was published, with a budget of 130 million euros to support the training of R&D projects among groups of companies and research organizations, thus coordinating the scientific and business capabilities of our country to address priority challenges.

This initiative is a measure of the ‘Transfer and Collaboration Plan: science and innovation at the service of society’ that addresses six ambitious and relevant thematic priorities framed within two areas: green transition and the promotion of technologies affecting the entire economy and related to the digital transition and industrial development.

The call supports high aid intensities; up to 80% in grants for companies and 100% for Research Centers in cooperative research projects.

Within TransMisiones 2023, six thematic priorities are addressed (see table below), among which THEMATIC PRIORITY 4 stands out:

“Promoting the development of an advanced, sustainable agri-food and livestock sector prepared for climate change and making relevant use of biotechnological tools.”

Given the interest that this call holds for the agri-biotechnology sector (both thematically and financially), we at BIOVEGEN have prepared this report, summarizing the main characteristics of the call.
