The Operational Group SIMBIOLIVA: new biotechnological solutions for a circular economy of pomace arises in the context of the Supra-autonomous Operational Groups call from the European Association for innovation in agricultural productivity and sustainability (AEI-AGRI) in 2023.
GO SIMBIOLIVA aims to enhance the development of biotechnological solutions to promote a circular economy of the olive grove associated with pomace that helps protect the soil from degradation and increase crop resilience. SIMBIOLIVA proposes a strategy that combines physicochemical processes and treatments with specific microorganisms to degrade the polyphenols of pomace, thereby enabling the development of a natural solution that benefits the olive sector and agriculture.

In this context, the upcoming June 9, 2026 will host the II Webinar GO SIMBIOLIVA: new biotechnological solutions for a circular economy of olive pomace, which will be dedicated to presenting the advances and developments of this project during its first year.
